Dedicated to Improving Students’ Proficiency in Mathematics

The Math Doctor is a professional one-on-one tutoring service that specializes in one-on-one tutoring for all levels and all types of math (algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, statistics, and more), including online courses. In addition to math, expert tutoring in physics, as well as tests such as the PSAT, SAT, SAT II, ACT, HSPT, ISEE, ELM, CBEST, GRE, etc., is also available.

Services are offered online and in-person.  The office is located in the lower level of the La Mesa Brigantine Restaurant Complex and has a lobby (with wifi), so parents are stay during the session. Sometimes, students prefer to come with a friend or classmate, and, on those occasions, two or more students may share the appointment with a single tutor.

Typically, students use our services to get through their homework and prepare for quizzes and exams. Mostly, students will come in for one or two appointments per week, with appointments usually lasting from half an hour to an hour (although, on occasion, longer appointments are booked).

The Math Doctor is a "pay-as-you-come" service. That is, there are no contracts and no signup fee. Payment can be made each time (check, cash, or Venmo—no credit or debit), and the fee is $50 per hour, $40 per 45 minutes, and $30 per half hour (all billed at the hourly rate if one or more total hours booked for the week). If the session is shared with a friend or family, there is an additional $10/student charge. For example, if a student wanted to share an hour session with their friend, the charge would be $50 + $10 = $60 for both ($30 for each student).
